Nagaland Assembly Elections 2023: If elected, Congress “vows” to end corruption, Therie

If Nagaland Congress wins the state’s next election, the party has “vowed” not to permit any government agency to engage in corruption.

Nagaland Congress president K Therie, the Congress candidate from the Dimapur-I constituency, addressed the state’s lack of development by claiming that there is no lack of resources—only a lack of “heart and mind”—to carry out the necessary tasks. He asked the voters to consider the reasons why Nagaland has not developed.

Therie laid forth his development plans for Dimapur, the commercial centre of Nagaland, during a news conference on Wednesday evening at the Congress Bhavan in this city.

Dimapur “has been beaten black and blue,” he highlighted the necessity for good roads, constant electricity supply, consistent water supply, and other infrastructure facilities as everyone in the city has been robbed while entrepreneurs are getting abducted and killed.

In response to the numerous taxes, particularly in Dimapur, Therie pledged that if her party is elected to power, only legitimate and legal taxes would be permitted.

He asserted that among other things, the Congress will ensure that Dimapur has good roads, an uninterrupted electricity supply, 200 litres of clean water per day for each home, MSMEs for young people, a world-class railway station, and a new electronic world market.

In preparation for the upcoming elections for the state’s 60-member parliament, the Congress has nominated 25 candidates.

Therie also promoted vehement opposition for Nagaland’s strong rule.
