DELHI: In a shocking event, a married couple and their domestic helper were discovered dead on Tuesday in the Harinagar neighbourhood of West Delhi. Fingers are pointing at their former domestic assistant, who was fired last month, as disturbing facts have emerged during the police probe.
Businessman Sameer Ahuja, 38, his wife Shalu Ahuja, 35, and their domestic helper Sapna are among the deceased (33). Shalu Ahuja, the wife of Sameer Ahuja, manages a beauty salon while he runs a clothing company.
Surprisingly, the couple’s 3-year-old daughter, who was asleep on the first floor of the three-story hallway when the murder occurred, was still alive.
So far, Delhi Police have arrested 2 people in the case, however they are working on the whereabouts of 4 others who are still missing. Talking about the brutality of the crime, the Police said that the businessman’s head was smashed with a frying pan while the throats of his wife and the maid were slit.
The horrific crime was quickly discovered once the couple’s driver arrived at the residence at around 9 a.m. and discovered that it had been completely plundered.
Based on their preliminary investigation, the Police have determined that the primary suspect entered Ahuja’s home under the pretence of paying back debt with the owner’s consent through the facial recognition gate. According to reports, 4 additional criminals also entered the building, all of whom were carrying knives. According to reports, the burglars stole a laptop, an iPhone, some cash, and other priceless stuff from the home.
So far, two suspects, Sachin and Sujeet, both Dwarka residents of Delhi, have been detained.
DCP (West) of Delhi Police Ghanashyam Bansal has further stated that the prime accused and his girlfriend were sacked from Shalu Ahuja’s salon due to ‘unprofessional conduct’. After a few days, his wife was also sacked from duty and DCP Bansal stated that he carried a grudge as he was insulted in front of his girlfriend who later roped in others for committing the heinous crime.
